Greenville, Texas City Guide
Greenville, Texas, is where the Jefferson Highway crosses the Bankhead Highway, and where an Art Deco auditorium, a cotton museum and a walkable downtown of coffee, wine, pizza and boutiques make one of the best stops on the Lone Star leg of the road.
Start with the 1939 Greenville Municipal Auditorium, a preserved landmark that has hosted everyone from Elvis to the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, and the Audie Murphy/American Cotton Museum, honoring Hunt County's WWII hero and its cotton-boom past. Then stroll downtown, spot the colorful Hearts of Hunt County sculptures, and stop for coffee, a tasting or a slice. In fall, don't miss the pumpkin patch at Kadee Farm, followed by its Christmas Trail of Lights.
A "Hearts of Hunt County" sculpture greets visitors at the Greenville Municipal Auditorium. Created by the 2023 Hunt County Leadership Class, the colorful hearts are scattered around the county. Find them all and snap a selfie with each one! Photo: Lisa D. Smith
